About The Position

Join Allied Universal® Police — Western North Carolina Schedule: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available Multiple location in NC Overview Allied Universal Special Police Officers assigned to hospital environments are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure setting for patients, visitors, and staff. Officers perform regular patrols of assigned areas, enforce facility rules and regulations, investigate incidents, and provide professional assistance and information to those on hospital grounds. The department’s mission is to ensure safety, preserve order, and enhance the overall security posture of the healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Certification: Must be certified as a Company Police Officer by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission .
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully complete background investigation, psychological evaluation, and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Must maintain required annual in-service training and adhere to departmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible police presence and conduct proactive patrols throughout hospital facilities, parking areas, and surrounding grounds.
  • Enforce North Carolina General Statutes and hospital policies within jurisdictional authority.
  • Investigate and document incidents, accidents, disturbances, and other irregularities occurring on hospital property.
  • Assist hospital staff in managing disruptive or combative individuals while maintaining professionalism and patient care priorities.
  • Maintain visitor and access control in sensitive or restricted areas.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and calls for service.
  • Provide clear communication and assistance to patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records of activities and incidents.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when appropriate.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Allied Universal and hospital policies, maintaining a compassionate yet firm approach consistent with healthcare policing standards.
