About The Position

The Town of Franklin is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer at the Franklin Police Department. This role involves a variety of law enforcement duties aimed at maintaining peace and safety within the community. Officers will patrol assigned areas, respond to incidents, and enforce state and local laws.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a 2- or 4-year degree is preferred.
• Completion of North Carolina's Basic Law Enforcement Training is mandatory.
• Other state lateral transfers may be accepted upon meeting NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission requirements.
• Completion of requirements established by the NC Justice Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers is necessary.
• Possession of a BLET certificate is required.
• Must possess a valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the Town during assigned shifts in a police car or on foot.
• Prevent, detect, and investigate disturbances and crimes.
• Perform traffic control work.
• Apprehend suspects as necessary.
• Execute related law enforcement assignments.
