Upon graduation from the police academy and being sworn in as a Police Officer, there is additional pay and benefits. Currently, our full-time Police Officers earn a base salary of $112,890 - $144,198 annually, plus enjoy incredible health and retirement benefits. Candidates for the position of Police Officer Trainee are required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable law, regulation and/or policy. During the background investigation candidates are required to complete and submit a California Personal History Statement (POST Form 2-251 Rev. 01/2024). The information that you provide in the Personal History Statement will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of Police Officer Trainee, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953. Additionally, for the position of Police Officer Trainee, a polygraph, pre-placement psychological exam and medical examination is required prior to employment.
Incumbents are required to establish a bona fide residence in compliance with agreed-to travel time by completion of the probationary period.
