About The Position

As a Police Officer at Amtrak in Seattle, you will perform general police duties, processes, and operations for the protection of life and property. Your role will involve enforcing federal, state, and local laws, preventing crime, and preserving peace in a railroad surface transportation environment. You will be responsible for the safety and protection of all persons, including passengers, employees, and property, while performing patrol duties on foot and in a police vehicle for prolonged periods of time. You will also respond to calls for service, conduct investigations, and maintain communication with law enforcement agencies.

Requirements

  • Must have completed Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) Law Enforcement Basic Academy or equivalent.
  • Must have successfully completed an agency's law enforcement patrol Field Training Program.
  • Must be a United States citizen or meet immigration requirements.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment.
  • Must be able to pass all components of the police application process.
