About The Position

The Police Officer Recruit position with the City of Galt is an entry-level, temporary role designed for individuals who are preparing to become sworn police officers. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Non-CDL Class C driver's license
• Peace Officer Certification
• Bilingual writing skills
• Must be 21 years of age by time of appointment to sworn police officer position
• Must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien eligible for citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Attend and successfully complete the P.O.S.T. Basic Academy approved by the City of Galt.

• Control traffic flow and enforce state laws and local municipal codes violations and traffic regulations.
• Perform investigative work and provide support to special crime prevention and enforcement programs.
