About The Position
The Police Officer Recruit position is a full-time role within the Charlottesville Police Department, designed for individuals who will undergo formal training at the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy. Recruits will learn essential law enforcement skills and participate in various training programs, including physical fitness, legal knowledge, and emergency response. Upon successful completion of the academy, recruits will be sworn in as Police Officers and begin a one-year probationary period with on-the-job training.
