About The Position
The Police Officer Recruit position is an entry-level role within the San Jose Police Department, aimed at individuals who do not have prior police or peace officer training in California. This position is designed for candidates who are committed to serving the community and upholding the law with dignity, fairness, and respect. Recruits will undergo a 26-week training program at the San Jose Police Academy, where they will learn essential skills and knowledge required for law enforcement. Upon successful completion of the academy, recruits will enter a Field Training Program to gain practical experience on the job.
