The position involves patrolling the District and providing services to individual facilities, students, and staff. The officer will operate a District vehicle and patrol school property or an assigned area to deter criminal offenses such as fire, burglary, theft, vandalism, and other unauthorized activities. The role includes investigating criminal offenses that occur within the District's jurisdiction, collecting evidence, enforcing regulations for District school buses, and performing physically strenuous activities required to identify, detain, and apprehend offenders. The officer will respond to burglar and fire alarms, investigate suspicious persons, report misuse of District property, and enforce all general and criminal laws of Texas within the District's jurisdiction. Additional responsibilities include assisting with traffic control, providing crisis response, performing security inspections, maintaining awareness of District activities, conducting intrusion system tests, and preparing written reports of incidents.
