About The Position

The Fresno Police Department is looking for experienced officers who have the energy level and commitment to be part of a vigorous law enforcement agency. The selected candidate will be expected to encompass a high level of commitment to public service and a demonstrated history of achievement in law enforcement. Fresno Police Officers perform law enforcement duties in the protection of life and property. Work normally consists of performing law enforcement duties according to department rules and regulations. Incumbents receive general and special instructions and must be able to act without supervision.

Requirements

• Two years of experience and current employment performing the full range of duties, including patrol, as a sworn Peace Officer with a local governmental law enforcement agency.
• Possession of a California State Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Certificate.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment.
• Must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.
• A valid California Driver's License at time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Fresno Police Department within the last three years.
