About The Position
The main purpose of this full-time position will be to serve as a Maryland Police Training Commission Certified Police Officer, capable of conducting complex criminal and general investigations in a fair and impartial manner while maintaining strict confidentiality. This position will implement crime scene procedures, evidence retention, and complete comprehensive investigative reports. This position, in accordance with Federal and State and local laws, will also conduct interviews, interrogations, and liaison with the Maryland State Police, MOU regarding criminal investigations at MDH facilities. The selected candidate will be required to have knowledge and understanding of Maryland criminal laws and MDH policies and procedures. In addition, this position will enforce all appropriate Federal, State, and local laws in a fair and impartial manner. The selected candidate must have and maintain a valid Maryland driver's license to operate State vehicles and provide medical and judicial transports for forensic patients. The selected candidate must possess investigative abilities as well as good writing and oral communication skills. The selected candidate will be mandated to actively maintain their Maryland Police and Corrections Commission, (Police Officer) Certification and Special Police Commission.
