About The Position

The starting salary ranges from $75,289.74 to $100,895.45 annually, depending on qualifications. The role is supervised by a Police Sergeant and involves compliance with the Code of Conduct and attendance policies. Essential duties include preparing reports on crimes and activities, participating in firearms training, using departmental computer equipment for record-keeping, and engaging in various law enforcement activities such as making arrests, executing search warrants, and conducting investigations. Officers will also interact with citizens to address law enforcement and crime prevention issues, patrol assigned areas, respond to emergency calls, and assist with medical situations as needed. The position may involve participation in tactical operations, undercover work, and educational programs for the community. Candidates with prior military service may receive additional points during the selection process, and all candidates must pass a qualifying physical ability and medical examination, including drug testing. The job requires a valid Texas driver's license and the ability to obtain Peace Officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TECOLE).
