About The Position
The Police & Emergency Vehicle Technician position at The Shyft Group involves working with Strobes-R-Us, a division dedicated to providing vehicle up-fits for a variety of emergency and service vehicles, including those used by police, fire, and EMS. The technician will work under the guidance of lead installers and bay managers to assist in the installation of emergency equipment, ensuring that vehicles are equipped to provide safety and visibility on the road. This role requires hands-on work with vehicle components, including the removal and reassembly of parts such as bumpers, fenders, and interior trim, as well as the installation of essential equipment like push bumpers, partition cages, and lightbars. The technician will be responsible for mounting lightheads, installing interior lighting, and making proper wiring connections using tools such as crimpers and strippers. A solid understanding of 12-volt systems and the ability to set patterns on remote lightheads is essential. The position emphasizes teamwork and collaboration, as technicians will need to communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient operations in the installation bays.
