Description Job Title: Police Dispatcher Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Police Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police units, and providing critical support to officers in the field. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to public safety. Key Responsibilities: - Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for police assistance. - Dispatch police units to incidents and provide them with relevant information. - Maintain accurate records of calls and dispatch activities. - Monitor radio communications and respond to inquiries from officers in the field. - Coordinate with other emergency services as needed. - Provide support and guidance to callers in crisis situations. Skills and Qualifications: - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. - Proficient in using computer systems and radio communication equipment. - Excellent multitasking and organizational skills. - Knowledge of local geography and law enforcement procedures is a plus. - Previous experience in a dispatch or emergency services role is preferred but not required. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays. Candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug testing, physical exam, and a background check. The salary will range from $21.50 per hour to $23.75 per hour, with experience taken into consideration.
