About The Position

The City of Alamo Heights Police Department is seeking qualified individuals for the position of police dispatcher. This role is critical in ensuring effective communication and coordination within the police department and with the community. Applicants must meet specific qualifications and standards to be considered for this position.

Requirements

• Must be a citizen of the United States of America
• Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age
• Must meet minimum standards for licensure as set forth in the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE)
• Must possess a high school diploma/GED
• Preferred: Completion of the Basic Telecommunications Operator Certification Course
• Preferred: An active Texas telecommunications operator license
• Preferred: Successfully completed the NCIC/TCIC, TLETS Certification Course (40 hrs)
• Must be of good moral character as defined for Police Officers
• Must be able to read and write the English language
• Must not have been discharged from any military service under less than honorable conditions
• Must not have been convicted or on court-ordered community supervision, probation or deferred adjudication for any Class B misdemeanor within the last ten (10) years
• Must not be currently under indictment for any criminal offense
• Must not have been convicted of any family violence offense
• Must not have been convicted of a State jail felony or felony offense
• Must not have been convicted of driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs within twenty-four months prior to application
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record and not be prohibited by State or Federal law from operating a motor vehicle
