About The Position

The Police Communications Specialist I position within the Clark County School District is responsible for providing essential communication support to police services. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of general office experience involving customer service or public contact duties, or 30 credit hours in Criminal Justice or a related field, or Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC).
  • Verified keyboarding/typing score of 45 words per minute net, dated within the last 12 months.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug/alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) issued by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (ISED).
  • Experience in a law enforcement or emergency services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and public contact support in police communications.
  • Perform general office duties as required.
  • Complete the CCSD School Police Services 19-week Communications Training course within six months of hire.
  • Maintain CJIS certification and comply with all training requirements.
  • Assist in the management of police communications and dispatching duties.
