About The Position

The City of Wyoming is accepting applications for the Police Cadet position within the Department of Public Safety. This role offers hands-on experience in law enforcement and serves as a potential pathway to future careers in the criminal justice field. A Police Cadet performs a variety of public safety non-sworn duties, and excellent customer service skills are essential. Police Cadets often represent the department by welcoming and assisting community members seeking police services and providing support and assistance to sworn personnel as they perform a variety of tasks. The role requires strict adherence to departmental rules and regulations. Supervisors assign specific tasks and indicate methods and procedures to be followed through either oral or written instructions. Applicants interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field are eligible to apply for this part-time position. Bilingual and multilingual employees hired into the Police Cadet position are eligible to participate in the City of Wyoming Language Incentive Pay Program. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
