About The Position

The fundamental reason this position exists is to provide on-the-job training for those individuals interested in becoming a Police Officer who are between 18 and 21 years old. Police Cadets serve as non-sworn, full-time employees in one of Montgomery Police Department's divisions. Police Cadets must apply for Police Officer Trainee by their 21st birthday. Police Cadets are typically supervised by division superior officers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• At least 18 years old, but not older than 21 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a valid Alabama Driver's License prior to employment
• Must pass a drug test and polygraph test
• Must be certified by a licensed physician to be in good health and physically fit for the performance of duties
