About The Position

The City of Ventura is accepting applications for the position of Police Cadet. The Police Cadet is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine duties to assist Police Department personnel in accomplishing their activities. The Police Cadet is a training position intended to provide incumbents with exposure to the full spectrum of Police operations and procedures, as preparation for a future career related to law enforcement. Police Cadets are 'extra help' positions, working approximately 20 hours per week, to a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year. Cadets may work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Six months of experience involving public contact.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver license and acceptable driving record.
