We are seeking candidates who are eager to adopt and champion our mission and values. As part of the Police Cadet program, this position will provide a variety of community service and other municipal services including, but not limited to, follow up on nuisance complaints, animal control, detention cell monitoring, control of recovered property, enforcement of various ordinances, and other community service-oriented tasks that ensure effective and prompt delivery of services. The city will provide tuition assistance to the Police Cadet via reimbursement to obtain the necessary education to become eligible for a licensed police officer. Police cadets will complete a two-year program with the intention of being hired as a police officer as soon the cadet becomes qualified, and the department has an opening. This position is classified as part-time and limited term, generally not longer than two years.
