About The Position

The City of Southfield Police Cadet program is a training opportunity designed to provide individuals with valuable training and exposure to the functions performed by Police Officers. Cadets will perform administrative tasks and other duties that do not require full Police powers, such as parking enforcement and jail security. Cadets must familiarize themselves with and abide by all departmental rules, City ordinances, and State and Federal laws.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
• Must meet the MCOLES Employment Standards
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
• Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license and a good driving record
• Must have no felony convictions and no record of serious misdemeanor convictions

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement or related field
