About The Position
The primary purpose of the Cadet position is to attend and satisfactorily complete the University of Texas System Police Academy, qualifying for commissioning as a peace officer of the University of Texas System. Responsible for successfully fulfilling the academic, physical, and practical requirements of the Basic Training School of the University of Texas System Police Academy. Training includes participation in physical training programs, firearms training, defensive tactics, practical problem solving, and academic instruction. Cadets must maintain comprehensive notebooks, prepare research papers, and complete homework assignments while adhering to the policies and procedures set by the Police Academy staff.
