About The Position

Come work for the City of Redondo Beach as part of the Redondo Beach Police Department! Under general supervision, Police Cadets perform administrative support functions in the Police Department and other related duties as assigned. This is a continuous recruitment and may close at any time without notice. Prompt application is highly encouraged. Police Cadet is an at-will, part-time position which is not eligible for City benefits. Requirements

• 18 years of age at the time of appointment
• Possession of a valid California Driver License
• Current enrollment in a two-year college or four-year university, with a minimum of twelve (12) semester units and a GPA of 2.0 or better
• Police Cadets that have completed 120 or more college units, or have obtained their desired degree/certification, would be required to complete a minimum of 9 units each semester with a 2.0 GPA or better to remain in the program
• Satisfactorily complete security background investigations
• Meet physical employment standards for this classification

Responsibilities

• Perform part-time administrative support duties in the Records Unit or other Divisions within the Police Department
• Typing and operating computer equipment
• Filing
• Answering telephones and providing assistance at the front counter or desk position
• Assisting in the maintenance of the Police facilities and vehicles
• Processing Livescan fingerprint applications
• Directing traffic
• Assisting the department as needed
• Performing other required duties as assigned by supervisors or department personnel
