About The Position

The PAB Manager (Police Administration Building Manager) will manage all administrative processes of the Police Department. The PAB Manager will function as the Departments office manager, providing supervision of the Police Receptionists. This position works daily with the Police Command Staff and oversees the administration and maintenance of mechanical and electronic access control strategies and systems. This person will be required to have an adept understanding of all the systems, policies, and procedures utilized by Campus Police. This position works closely with numerous departments across the SWBTS campus and various external businesses essential to the campus infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar positions preferred
  • Strong knowledge of systems and personal computer workstations required
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and management
  • Successful completion of background check and MVR
  • Exhibit a humble, patient, and collaborative spirit to create a healthy and vibrant work culture for the staff team.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.

  • Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to staff in the area of specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Office Manager, Access Control Manager, Support Services to Command Staff, and Property and Evidence Room Manager, overseeing daily administrative duties for each area of service.
  • Supervisor of three Police Receptionist positions who provide campus identification and parking permits to all campus staff and students, vendors, and visitors. Providing individual performance reviews and relief support to those positions in their absence.
  • Manage and catalog purchase agreements, service contracts, requisitions, personnel records, confidential documents, miscellaneous files, property chain of command data, personnel timesheets and assist with outside agency background checks.
  • Answer and respond to open records requests as required by the Attorney Generals Office in accordance with Texas state law and the Public Information Act.
  • Complete employee onboarding processes in coordination with Campus Technology, Human Resources, and Command Staff.
  • Codirect with campus senior management on options/strategies/construction plans for maintaining/enhancing building security, allocating resources strategically.
  • Authorize/monitor key requests and data management assuring compliance with SWBTS policies, state, and federal law.
  • Manage, create and administer maintenance of pin and keyway hierarchy that forms the foundation of campus building security and ensures on-going lock inventory. Coordinates with the Campus locksmith for hardware installation.
  • Oversee campus security camera system and software program.
  • Provide alarm key codes and security codes to police personnel.
  • Assist the Chief of Police with budget management monitoring and tracking expenditures adhering to approved budget.
  • Manage the administrative aspects of all software programs used by Campus Police and familiarize personnel on those programs. Understanding of emergency preparedness and response.
  • Manage Property Room and Evidence performing essential daily duties as monitoring evidence lockers, approving items for long term storage, maintain dispositions of cases, prepare for quarterly court ordered destruction, transport cases to and from the Medical Examiners Office and other duties assigned.
  • Ability to maintain required training and certification.
  • Responsible for the proper implementation of the master keying schematic
  • Responsible for purchasing keying supplies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned specific to the area of responsibility.
