The principle tasks of the Pole Shop Operator are as follows: 1. Must be able to adjust and operate the following machines used in the fabrication of poles: Metal Cutting Saws Grit Blaster Punch Press Paint Spraying Equipment Drill Press Burnishing Machine Hydraulic Bender 2. Must be able to read and interpret bills of material, operations sheets, and engineering drawings. 3. Coordinates with lead person or departmental supervisor any material or equipment problems to insure product meets engineering specifications and quality standards. 4. Must perform considerable amounts of manual material handing in moving work on and off machines and between operations. 5. Performs paperwork necessary for production reporting. 6. Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, hoist, and hand trucks necessary in the performance of their work. 7. Performs housekeeping duties as required or assigned. 8. Adheres to plant and departmental safety rules.
