Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Working knowledge of PC skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, maintain manual dexterity to operate job related equipment, such as telephones, copiers, etc.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, receive direction, and provide feedback when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patrons and maintaining accurate waiting lists for all games.
  • Exchanging cash for chips for patrons when called upon.
  • Calling patrons according to waiting list when seats become available.
  • Opening and maintaining games.
  • Promoting positive customer relations at all times and escorting customers to tables.
  • Assisting in keeping the Poker Room neat and clean, thereby eliminating safety hazards.
  • Obtaining food, beverage and porter services for patrons when needed.
  • Providing buy-ins to players and making cash and chip exchanges for patrons and dealers when needed.
  • Calculating totals for customers' chips and paying out cash for chips collected.
  • Ensuring that cash drawer is balanced at all times and making exchanges with the vault when necessary.
  • Providing fills for dealers when needed.
  • Responsible for starting games, tracking team member hours and rotations, making table decisions and running promotions.
  • Responsible for bank fills and chips purchasing.
  • Adhering to the Miccosukee Service Expectations.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of and complying with all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of pertinent casino data.
  • Being knowledgeable with all Title 31 rules and regulations.
  • Ensuring full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures and regulations in relation to Title 31.
  • Recording all Title 31 cash in/out transactions at the established threshold and being knowledgeable in recording transactions in the compliance system.
  • Maintaining clear and open communication with guests, managers and team members.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
