About The Position

Assist the CSPI in accepting emergent telephone calls relating to known or suspected poisonings. Per operational guidelines, advise on treatment or triage case assessment to CSPI for definitive care. Participate in data collection efforts and public education programs.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Health oriented background required.
• Familiarity with basic aspects of pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical patient management.
• Good organizational skills and familiarity with computer data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to assess severity of exposures and placate victims and families.
• Effective communication skills with the general public and health care professionals.

Nice To Haves

• EMT, LPN, C.N.A., pharmacy tech, nursing student or pharmacy student preferred.
