About The Position

Coordinates daily operation of point of care testing in the hospital. May assume interim responsibility in the event of the manager's absence. Provides clinical and technical direction to Point of Care testing personnel. Serves as "General Supervisor" as defined by C.L.I.A. (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) for specific subspecialty area of testing. Assists manager in a variety of tasks, including the following: Laboratory information system operations, budget development, analysis of budgetary performance and variances, productivity management, new staff orientation, ensuring compliance of staff with identified clinical skill development, competencies, regulatory practice guidelines, performance improvement activities, data collection/analysis, product design, operationalization of departmental and institutional policies and procedures, preparation for the compliance with regulatory agencies, identifying program development needs and assisting in their implementation, and representing the Laboratory on departmental and hospital wide committees as deemed appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required
  • More than 2 years Clinical Chemistry experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP), CLT (NCA), or MLS (ASCP)
