About The Position

The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and establishing procedures for point of care testing (POCT) within St. Luke's Health System. This role involves working with various departments to implement POCT programs in compliance with regulatory standards, overseeing point of care activities, and ensuring quality control and assurance for testing on patient care units. The coordinator also develops policies and procedures, supports training and competency evaluations for staff, and maintains a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (ASCP or AMT certification required).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and establish procedures for point of care testing (POCT).
• Implement point of care testing programs in accordance with regulatory agencies.
• Oversee point of care activities for assigned sites.
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance for point of care testing.
• Develop point of care testing policies and procedures.
• Support training and annual competency evaluations for patient care staff involved with POCT.
• Maintain supplies and a safe working environment.
• Serve as a resource for staff and clients regarding POCT.
• Contribute to the development of the budget.
