ARES Technical Services seeks an experienced level Payload Operation and Integration Center (POIC) Safety Engineer for an open position at the Marshall Space Flight Center supporting International Space Station payload operations. Duties include: - Review a payload's safety data pack and hazard reports for phased safety reviews in support of the International Space Station Safety Review Panel (ISRP). Comments are made from the perspective of crew operational hazard controls. - Review crew procedures, ground command procedures, flight rules, and crew training to ensure implementation of operational hazard controls approved at the ISRP. - Document operational hazard controls and their implementations along with toxicity information, required levels of containment, and fire detection and suppression approach in database that produces a Payload Hazard Control Matrix (PHCM). Preferred Requirements: Roles will include operations product development, operations process implementation, and support to operations execution. Good communication skills are a necessity. Must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Some degree of leadership is expected.
