About The Position

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care, has a PRN (or 1099) opening for a Podiatrist! This position could work in any of our sites across the state of Massachusetts. Our sites are located in Gardner, Lancaster, Shirley, Framingham, Concord, Norfolk, Bridgewater, and Roslindale. PODIATRIST SUMMARY The Podiatrist specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. They provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatments, surgeries, and preventive education. Working with other healthcare professionals, the Podiatrist ensures quality outcomes while adhering to medical and regulatory standards. This role requires compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited podiatric medical school; Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and patient education

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
  • Preferably board-certified with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, or American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including primary care physicians, physical therapists, and other specialists, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Conduct patient education on preventive care, footwear, and self-management strategies to improve overall foot health.
  • Perform medical and surgical procedures to address patient needs, including wound care, fracture management, and reconstructive surgeries.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of foot, ankle, and lower extremity conditions, including injuries, deformities, and chronic conditions such as diabetes-related complications.
  • Prescribe medications, orthotics, physical therapy, and other interventions to promote recovery and mobility.
  • Conduct patient education on preventive care, footwear, and self-management strategies to improve overall foot health.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on advancements in podiatric medicine and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
