About The Position

We are currently looking for a compassionate, mission-driven Podiatrist, just a stone's throw from Charlotte. This position will report to our Chief Medical Officer. Qualified candidates should possess critical-thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, and provide the full scope of podiatry services following a patient-centered and integrated approach. Podiatry services should include but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care and preventive care to patients with chronic disease (i.e. Diabetes Management).

Requirements

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
  • Current valid/unrestricted NC Board of Podiatry Examiners License.
  • Current valid/unrestricted DEA License
  • North Carolina board
  • Previous medical office or FQHC experience preferred.
  • CPR and all applicable certifications required (must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
  • Understands ethics of confidentiality.
  • Previous computer experience or training required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to TB testing and any vaccinations recommended by OSHA Guidelines.
  • Sets an example as a medical professional by observing work start and stop times, giving adequate notice for absences and following clinic’s operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Able to communicate and relate well with patients, providers and clinical staff.
  • Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements.
  • Observes standards of medical care.
  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Review patients’ medical history to evaluate the condition of the feet, ankle or lower leg
  • Carry out diagnosis on the feet through X-ray examination and medical laboratory tests
  • Refer patients to other providers and specialists within the Kintegra team to treat conditions such as diabetes or arthritis
  • Prescribe medication and/or administer treatment for certain feet conditions: Plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, corns/callouses, heel stress, athlete’s foot, among others.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of the Medical Assistant
  • Advise patients on ways to increase speed of recovery and prevent future leg problems
