About the position
This announcement is an 'Open Continuous' vacancy announcement to allow for current, permanent employees of the Amarillo VA Health Care System to indicate interest in current (and future) Podiatrist vacancies. Candidates will be reviewed and referred to the Selection Official as vacancies occur. The Podiatry physician is assigned to Surgical Services, Podiatry Section, of the Amarillo VA Health Care System and provides comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of Podiatry. The scope of these activities covers hospitalized patients and all phases of ambulatory care. Other responsibilities may include education of medical students and residents and/or supervision of other providers. Applicants to this announcement should update their application every 90 days to be considered for internal reassignments. This announcement will remain open until filled. Applications will be checked weekly or at the request of management.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with podiatric illnesses.
- Cover hospitalized patients and all phases of ambulatory care.
- Educate medical students and residents.
- Supervise other providers as necessary.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Degree of doctor of podiatric medicine or equivalent.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery.
- Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
Nice-to-haves
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Podiatry.
- Good computer skills and understanding of electronic record keeping.
