About The Position

The Point of Care (POC) Lead Lab Technologist assist in the oversight of the day-to-day operation of the Laboratory Point of Care Section, as well as performing as a Medical Technologist. The POC Lead technologist will assist the department supervisor/coordinator with reports, supplies, budgets, procedures, test development, training, liaison services, and regulatorypliance. The POC Lead Lab Technologist assist in resolution of POC testing issues, operatorpetencies, proficiency sample distribution, quality control and QA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum: Must meet CLIA education requirements for general supervision for highplexity testing.
• Minimum of three (2) years' experience in clinical laboratory to include Hematology and Chemistry and/or i-STAT testing.
• Must have a thorough understanding of Clinical Laboratory Procedures.
• Must have sufficient knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL to include spreadsheet and pivot table creation, modification, and manipulation.
• Requires ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Job requires extended periods of standing, walking, and use of stairway.
• Job involves exposure to bio-hazardous materials, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases.

Nice To Haves

• MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT) or equivalent.
• Meet CLIA education requirements for technical consultant for moderatelyplexity testing.
