About The Position

The CMM Technical Programmer will develop, plan, implement, monitor, and lead quality assurance activities to ensure continuous compliant production and will be responsible for creating and developing code to program Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)/ Laser Scanning equipment using CMM/Laser Scanning programming tools such as PC-DMIS. The person in this role will also, plan, design, and document the tooling and processes required to execute the inspection of product on the CMM/ Laser Scanning machines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ related technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Technical competence in CMM programming, multiple platforms; CMM Manager, PC-DMIS and vision systems
  • 5+ years working experience with CMM/ Laser Programming and Calibration
  • 3+ years in quality role in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Quality Systems (ISO, AS, NADCAP)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Detail oriented and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of Office 365
  • Ability to write notes, instructions, and other written communication items

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and procedures in support of manufacturing and quality goals and objectives
  • Identify and implement improvements with manufacturing teams that reduce product cost, improve quality, and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Interpret engineering drawings and create new CMM/Laser Scanning programs based on the product priorities
  • Ensure that inspection reports meet internal and external customer drawing requirements
  • Assist and train new CMM / Laser Scanning programmers and operators as needed
  • Solid understanding of GD&T with respect to CMM/ Laser Scanning applications, vision and touch probe measurement applications
  • Excellent setup skills and knowledge of best practices on CMM/ Laser Scanning equipment
  • Create PFMEA for existing products and supporting APQP activities
  • Interact with customers (external and internal) relating to processing of quality rejections, reworks, non-conformance, corrective actions, etc.
  • Support inspection through review and approval of first article reports
