About The Position

The PMHNP position involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric and emotional disorders using a full scope of therapeutic skills, including medication prescription and psychotherapy administration. The role requires evaluating mental health problems, performing risk assessments, and developing treatment plans. The PMHNP will provide psychiatric and medical services, manage patient care, and coordinate with other healthcare providers. The position also includes mentoring and training others in the field.

Requirements

  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse license issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Prescriptive Authority Certification within the Oregon APRN Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice.
  • Must maintain certifications and licenses through approved continuing education.
  • Four years related experience and/or training.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with psychiatric and emotional disorders.
  • Evaluate and diagnose mental health problems and psychiatric disorders.
  • Perform risk assessments and construct medical histories.
  • Develop biopsychosocial and pharmacologic treatment plans.
  • Provide psychiatric and medical services and admit patients to LRC.
  • Refer patients to community resources and manage care.
  • Observe and intervene in instances of disruptive behavior.
  • Delegate care and monitor patients' performance and progress.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
  • Prescribe and administer psychotropic medications.
  • Mentor, advise, and train others in the field.
  • Discuss treatment plans with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals.
