About The Position

Penske Media Corporation (PMC) is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Director of HR & Employee Benefits to oversee and lead key areas of the company's Human Resources operations. Based in Miami, Florida, this dynamic role will require regular travel to the Bahamas to support and manage employee matters for PMC's real estate venture. In addition to this regional oversight, the Senior Director will oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee healthcare benefits across PMC's global workforce. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of HR, this role will provide regular updates and strategic recommendations related to employee matters and benefits programs. This role will serve as a critical advisor to PMC leadership, contributing to an exceptional employee experience across diverse operations. This dual-faceted role involves not only being a strategic business partner but also requires smooth administration of day-to-day processes and employee interaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with a proven track record of leadership in benefits administration and workforce oversight.
  • Expertise in employee benefits program development, administration, and compliance.
  • Experience managing HR operations in international contexts (experience with Bahamian labor laws a strong plus).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to the Bahamas as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR direction and operational support to the real estate venture's growing workforce based in the Bahamas.
  • Manage employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and workforce planning in collaboration with local management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Bahamian labor laws, regulations, and employment standards.
  • Act as a trusted HR business partner, providing guidance to leadership teams on organizational structure, workforce optimization, and leadership development.
  • Implement HR policies, protocols, and procedures that align with PMC's global HR values while reflecting local cultural and operational needs.
  • Coordinate training programs and career development initiatives to build an engaged and motivated on-site team.
  • Lead and mentor assigned HR team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with HR leaders across all PMC divisions to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to HR strategies and employee experience.
  • Travel regularly to the Bahamas to maintain strong on-site relationships with employees and local management.
  • Act as a bridge between PMC corporate HR leadership and the operations of the real estate venture, ensuring alignment of goals, practices, and organizational values.
  • Lead the strategy, design, and execution of comprehensive employee healthcare benefits programs and 401(k) across PMC.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in healthcare benefits to ensure a competitive offering that supports employee wellness.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare broker and providers to negotiate contracts, evaluate plan options, and optimize cost structures to meet both employee needs and company objectives.
  • Promote benefits education and awareness for employees across the company.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics related to benefits utilization, employee satisfaction, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Manage the relationship with our third-party Benefit Service Center.
  • Review 401(k) employee participation and contribution trends, recommend initiatives to enhance engagement and optimize plan utilization as well as process withdrawals, loans, hardship withdrawals and other activity on a daily basis.
  • Partner with the third-party administrator (TPA) and payroll to review the Employer Match and respond to auditor reviews.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees initiating a leave of absence, providing clear and compassionate communication regarding the leave process and available resources.
  • Partner with PMC's leave management vendor to monitor and ensure the timely processing of leave requests, including approvals, denials, and return-to-work protocols.
