About The Position

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on company’s fleet equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely. The PM technician will work closely with the Maintenance team to minimize downtime, extend the lifespan of vehicles, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED (Certification in diesel technology or other specialty is a plus)
  • Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and have reliable transportation to work.
  • Able to lift (up to 75lbs.) and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment.
  • Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Communicate well with team members and Supervision.
  • Apply creativity to solve problems and contribute to the success of the team.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL Licensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance services on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, tire inspections, braking systems, steering and suspension, drive-line systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical / electronic, etc. Ensures engine oil samples are taken and documented in accordance with shop standard operating procedures. Moves equipment around the shop area to perform scheduled maintenance in a safe manner.
  • Perform inspection: Inspect equipment for damage and wear items. Documents, repairs, and relaces broken components. Conducts thorough inspections to identify potential issues before they become serious problems.
  • Record Keeping: Maintains detailed notes of all maintenance work, repairs, and inspections performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any work completed. Documents and records warranty and safety notifications.
  • Shop Organization and cleanliness: PM Technician is responsible for shop cleaning inside and outside. Ensures tools are organized, serviceable, and stored in proper location. Responsible for appropriate disposal of used parts.
