As a PM Supervisor/Cook , you’ll lead and support a team in preparing nutritious, comforting meals that promote patient recovery and nourish staff and visitors. Requirements

  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, assigning tasks and monitoring workflow to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Review menus and verify all items needed for preparation are available.
  • Ensure adherence to standard recipes and production sheets for nutritious, high-quality, cost-effective meals.
  • Evaluate food preparation and implement changes to improve operations and consistency.
  • Oversee kitchen opening/closing procedures and enforce sanitation and safety practices for food and equipment.
  • Train and mentor new Food Service personnel, providing guidance on techniques and compliance.
  • Monitor and report repairs and maintenance needs promptly.
  • Coordinate and meet time deadlines for tray line, cafeteria service, and catering.
  • Utilize progressive cooking procedures and presentation techniques to maintain optimum quality.
  • Manage daily prep and pull schedules, ensuring readiness for upcoming production.
  • Oversee weighing and measuring of ingredients, proper refrigeration, and thawing procedures.
  • Approve and document supply acquisitions, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Rotate supplies and maintain organized inventory levels.
  • Enforce safe food handling practices—hot food hot, cold food cold—and proper storage (cover, label, date).
  • Ensure compliance with cleaning procedures for all cooking equipment and work areas.
  • Perform other supervisory duties as assigned.
