About The Position

The Position is the main Housekeeping staff for the property at night. They cover the needs of the resort including inventory runner responsibilities, public areas cleaning, Room attendant and Houseperson abiding by all hotel's established standards of cleanliness. Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guest requests or complaints. Ensures the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms.
  • Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses.
  • Ensure and assist housekeeping staff with replacement of housewares for rental units.
  • Ensure inventory requested by Guests, Owners and housekeeping staff is handled in a timely fashion.
  • Strip, Clean and Touch-up rooms including making beds, sofa beds, and other guest requests--according to Sandestin standards.
  • Replace dirty linens with clean items.
  • Maintain and clean various common areas, restrooms, and office spaces.
  • Pick up trash / debris from outside common areas
  • Clean public restrooms
  • Exercise good judgment while reinforcing the resort standards of quality.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with resort standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Report all suspicious persons, actions, and hazardous conditions to the Director of Housekeeping and/or Security.
  • Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, directions and information as requested.
  • Drive an automobile, forklift or golf cart.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
