  • Coordinates surgical procedures scheduling aspects.
  • Assists with the center activities' daily operation in accordance with federal, state, and Surgery Center policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates receiving and admitting activities.
  • Promotes communication throughout the facility.
  • Performs clerical and reception duties.
  • Maintains facility medical records in accordance with established guidelines and requirements.
  • Participates actively developing a healthy work environment.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., General Educational Development (GED) credential).
  • One (1) year of relevant, job-related work experience in an office or administrative setting.
  • One (1) year of computerized appointment scheduling experience.
  • Working knowledge of the health care environment.
  • Working knowledge of patient processing with computerized scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of outpatient surgery forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good oral and written communication and language skills.
  • Above average ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and phone calls while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Above average ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to type forty (40) correct words per minute (cwpm).
  • Ability to manage patient confrontations positively.
  • Ability to manage emergencies.
  • Ability to develop triage skills.
  • Ability to provide proof of identity and the right to work inside the United States of America.
