About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB To ensure all allocated areas are cleaned and presented to Firmdale exceptional standards. To assist in specific tasks within the housekeeping department.

Responsibilities

  • Highly attentive to small details.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Good communication with your supervisor.
  • Knowledgeable of the housekeeping etiquettes as per Firmdale SOP’s.
  • Good understanding of Firmdale’s customer service.
  • Promptly answer the designated pager.
  • Receive incoming deliveries and store correctly.
  • Distribute and maintain stock levels in all the linen closets.
  • Distribute and maintain toiletries stock level in linen closets.
  • Assist the Room Attendants maintain guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas to our 5 standards.
  • Deliver extra beds, baby cots and other guest requests to the room.
  • Communicate with the housekeeping management team regarding daily duties to be completed.
  • Communicate with the management team when duties have been completed.
  • Maintain strict health and safety standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues.
  • React to any guest requests.
  • Sort through and separate the dirty linen to be collected by Laundry Company.
  • Ensure security of any assigned guest room keys and pager.
  • Inform the Floor Manager immediately of any lost property items found.
  • Report immediately any damages or maintenance issues to Floor Manager.
  • Carry out daily duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper and Floor Manager.
  • Understand the DND procedure.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work place.
  • Have a good understanding of the Health and Safety regulations, and  fire procedures
  • Knowledgeable of the housekeeping equipment and their use.
  • Carry out spring cleaning of all areas of the hotel as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
  • Carry out high dusting.
  • Clean and vacuum allocated areas.
  • Move any furniture as directed.Ability to perform physical tasks, exerting up to 25 lbs of force on a frequent basis and up to 60 lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Shampoo carpets and upholstery as directed.
  • Keep corridors, stairways and all public and working areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • Follow the security procedure to protect both guest and hotel property. To be responsible for any keys given out.
  • Knowledgeable of hotel fire and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe hazard free work environment at all times.
  • Maintain high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times
  • To be polite and deferential to guests at all times.
  • To have thorough knowledge of the hotel and the company.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the company.
  • To carry out any other tasks required from time to time by management.
