About The Position

The Houseperson at Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Flagler Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and friendliness of the hotel environment. This position is focused on providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the hotel. The Houseperson will be responsible for various tasks that contribute to guest satisfaction and the overall success of the hotel.

Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with hotel technology and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use guests’ names whenever possible to ensure they feel properly welcomed.
  • Contribute to great guest satisfaction scores by working together with all team members.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
  • Complete operational checklists accurately and at designated times.
  • Ensure accurate and timely shift handover reports.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
  • Handle luggage and packages for guests as needed.
  • Clean and maintain guest hallways, stairwells, service areas, and ice rooms.
  • Collect trash from exterior garbage receptacles and common grounds.
  • Monitor the placement and condition of public space furniture.
  • Maintain stock levels in guest floor linen closets and replenish amenities.
