About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to support the resort's operational needs by fulfilling various roles, including inventory runner, public area attendant, room attendant, and houseperson, all while upholding the Resort’s established cleanliness standards. They are responsible for promptly reporting maintenance issues, addressing guest requests and concerns, and ensuring the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms during PM hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to three months of related experience or training preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation techniques, and handling of delicate materials is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation techniques, and handling of delicate materials is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly deliver requested housekeeping items to guest rooms.
  • Respond efficiently to housekeeping-related issues such as spills or broken glass.
  • Support housekeeping staff with the replacement of housewares in rental units.
  • Ensure inventory requests from guests, owners, and housekeeping staff are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Assist in stripping, cleaning, and touch-up of rooms, including making beds and sofa beds, in accordance with Sandestin standards.
  • Replace soiled linens with fresh, clean items.
  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, and office spaces.
  • Remove trash and debris from outdoor common areas.
  • Ensure public restrooms are clean, stocked, and presentable at all times.
  • Exercise sound judgment while upholding resort standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with resort expectations.
  • Report any suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions to the Director of Housekeeping and/or Security.
  • Assist guests by answering questions, providing directions, and delivering outstanding service.
  • Operate resort vehicles such as automobiles, golf carts, or forklifts as needed.
  • Perform special assignments and other duties as directed.
