About The Position

In this dual role, you’ll ensure the kitchen stays spotless while supporting chefs with essential food prep tasks. Whether you're washing dishes, chopping ingredients, or stocking stations, your work directly contributes to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced, professional environment. Note: This will be primarily a dishwashing position with minimal prep work during "down times".

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Passion for cooking and learning new techniques
  • Strong understanding of cleanliness and food safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Valid ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler Card
  • Must pass background check
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; E-Verify participation required

Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas including sinks, floors, and trash stations.
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling cold items.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff during meal service and cleanup.
  • Ensure all dishes meet company standards for taste, appearance, and timing.
  • Restock supplies and organize storage areas.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
  • Build rapport with guests while representing Thomas Cuisine’s values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
