We are on the lookout for an Evening Gallery Host/Cook to prepare delightful meals for our guests at the Lobby Bistro, situated in the Hyatt Place Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch. While the primary focus of this role is cooking, it also includes opportunities for cross-functional training in various areas, such as the front desk and full-service lobby bar. We seek a versatile candidate who can support all kitchen operations and is eager to lend a hand in other areas to elevate the overall guest experience. Must have availability evenings, Wednesday-Sunday.

Requirements

Excellent communication, both verbal and written
Must be able to multi-task
Strong time management and problem solving skills
Satisfactory criminal background screening required
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate, listen, stand for long periods of time, ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Set-up kitchen properly and on time daily
Ensure all food is prepared by recipes designated by brand
Ensure food quality and quantity are correct
Must follow all QA and Health Department standards
Notify supervisor of any problems or complaints when they arise
Follow “clean as you go” policy and keep work area clean at all times
Rotation of goods – FIFO (First In First Out)
After service, turn off and clean oven tops, work areas, and reach-in boxes. Empty and clean dishwasher
Make sure production charts are closely followed and adhered to
Fill out appropriate cleaning charts
Be aware of accident prevention and help enforce safe work conditions
Follow all kitchen regulations as outlined and directed
Complete administrative duties as required
