Based on performance and business needs, there is potential for the role to transition into a regular Hale employee position. POSITION SUMMARY The Plumbing & Valves Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical valve components, plumbing sub‑assemblies, fittings, and related hardware that feed into Hale’s larger pump and module assembly lines. This position focuses exclusively on component‑level assembly, ensuring each part meets quality, safety, and dimensional standards before being released to downstream production.

Requirements

  • Ability to read work instructions, basic blueprints, and torque requirements.
  • Ability to use gauges, measuring instruments, and basic computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect imperfections.
  • Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver small‑to‑medium mechanical components.
  • At least 6 months of manufacturing assembly experience required.
  • Basic computer proficiency to view work orders, inventory, submit requests, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling small mechanical parts or valves preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble valve bodies, plumbing fittings, small mechanical parts, and sub‑assemblies following detailed procedures and acceptable mechanical practices.
  • Fit, align, press, and secure mechanical components using hand, air, and hydraulic tools.
  • Apply proper torque specifications and document torque settings as required.
  • Follow blueprints, cross‑sections, or general assembly instructions relevant to small parts production.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they are clean, defect‑free, and within required tolerances prior to assembly.
  • Perform basic functional checks (air/leak checks, movement checks, clearances) on completed valve and plumbing sub‑assemblies.
  • Detect and correct errors, rework small components, and make necessary adjustments to pass inspection.
  • Prepare, label, and stage completed sub‑assemblies for delivery to large assembly lines.
  • Maintain production flow by organizing components, tracking completed quantities, and reporting supply needs to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Transport parts within the department safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, and measurement instruments.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures during assembly, handling, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace by storing tools and removing debris or clutter.
  • All other duties as assigned.
