About The Position

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Plumbing Technical Manager to join their Business Sector. The Plumbing Technical Manager is responsible for managing the execution of quality and efficiency strategies and policies related to the Plumbing Engineering work within the sector. The Business Sector is where life happens. It's the buildings where we work and play, the warehouses that store our goods, groceries, and controlled environment agriculture operations, and the critical facilities that support our data-driven infrastructure - or sometimes a mix of it all. We design the building systems inside these spaces to be flexible and resilient with an emphasis on productivity and well-being. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, science, or technology preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Eight (8) or greater years of relevant experience required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in discipline of expertise and track record of technical excellence in such field.
  • History of contributing to technically sound teams, as well as ability to motivate and coach others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the technical needs of the industry and proven track record of quality monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize company technical strategies through project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two (2) years leadership/management experience, preferred.
  • Experienced with High Rise - Multi-Story Building (Hotels, Mixed Use, Condo's, Office Buildings, Hospitals).
  • SoVent Experience Preferred.
  • Commercial Kitchen Design Experience Preferred.
  • Compressed Air Experience Preferred.
  • Knowledge of Equipment Sizing and Structural Coordination.
  • Has experience and is comfortable working directly with clients.
  • CPD and PE Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Align discipline-specific engineering approaches across the sector, maintaining consistency with company-wide quality strategies.
  • Proactively monitor technical quality within the sector, responding appropriately to areas of concern or options for improvement.
  • Provide feedback to Sector leadership to inform technical strategies of the sector.
  • Manage quality-assurance tools, processes, and databases, ensuring judicious application of these resources.
  • Provide quality control for projects.
  • Track and report on progress toward annual goals and priorities of their technical discipline in the Sector.
  • Serve as a technical resource/expert within the sector.
  • Oversee technical training and mentoring needs of the sector and provide ongoing mentoring to production teams.
  • Manage vendor relations and coordinate training presentations.
  • Participate in interviewing to evaluate technical proficiency of potential talent for the practice.
