About The Position

Summary: We're seeking a highly experienced and motivated Plumbing Superintendent to oversee all on-site activities for plumbing and piping projects. This role ensures quality workmanship, project efficiency, code compliance, and safety, while leading crews and subcontractors from start to finish. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of plumbing and piping projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety regulations, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The superintendent plays a critical role in driving project success and maintaining client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of plumbing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Drug free pre-employment screening
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and large project requirements
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
  • Comprehend documents such as safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, installation instructions and company procedure manuals.
  • Communicate field measurements with fabrication shops in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interpret project drawings to understand the plumbing installation in three dimensions.
  • Coordinate plumbing installation with other trades to avoid collisions and rework.
  • Operate in a team spirited environment and coordinate with other trades.
  • Plan and communicate in a timely manner with the project, warehouse, purchasing, and shop managers to assure that an adequate supply of labor, tools, materials, and equipment are available.
  • Ensure that plumbing installers in your crews are qualified to perform their work.
  • Assist and lead in interviewing, hiring, and assembling work crews.
  • Be able to perform all the essential functions of the skilled craft workers under your supervision.
  • Provide on-the-job training as needed to those individuals under your supervision.
  • Observe installed plumbing systems or plumbing equipment to determine hazards and the possible need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Review crew's timecards for correct hours and phase coding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona to perform certain work functions. International Travel may be required
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for transporting documents, equipment, and other materials as needed. The role involves extended periods standing, walking and/or of sitting while working at a computer. Frequent movement between the construction trailer and various areas of the construction site is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid journeyman or master plumber license (preferred)
  • Familiarity with construction management software is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize all plumbing techniques and methods for joining different types of plumbing systems including threading, mechanical couplings, soldering, brazing, push joint, press fitting, gluing and fusion joining.
  • Supervise day-to-day on-site plumbing operations including piping installation, gravity drains, and plumbing systems for large-scale projects
  • Direct and supervise the planning, layout, installation, testing, cleaning, startup and/or renovation of all types of plumbing and piping systems and related equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various types of plumbing, such as cast iron, copper, PVC, CPVC and HDPE as related to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to maintain schedule and resolve issues
  • Will be required to have experience managing plumbing projects in the $10,000,000+ project range.
  • Must have experience and understanding with plumbing IPC Code City Inspections.
  • Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Lead and mentor field crews, ensuring work is performed to the highest standard
  • Monitor inventory and procurement of materials, tools, and equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
  • Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and communicate milestones to PM’s
  • Assist in budgeting, estimating change orders, and forecasting labor and materials
