About The Position

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • Five years of plumbing management experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Some post-high school education from college, trade school, or military.
  • In-depth knowledge of plumbing and piping systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and train on plumbing manuals.
  • Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes.
  • Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with conflict management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with multitasking capabilities.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Desire for personal improvement and motivation of plumbing technicians.
  • Professional appearance and pride in workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work non-standard schedules, including nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in generating sales leads and promoting service agreements.
  • Familiarity with plumbing system troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, direct, and provide technical support for plumbing technicians to meet service demands and customer expectations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train plumbing technicians as required to meet workload demands.
  • Supervise and direct plumbing technicians to effectively perform plumbing system repair, installation, and other duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review technicians' work to ensure quality meets established standards and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and set improvement goals for plumbing technicians.
  • Establish and maintain a regular training program for plumbing technicians on service techniques and safety procedures.
  • Conduct group and one-on-one meetings with technicians for training and evaluation.
  • Communicate regularly with dispatch to ensure proper scheduling of personnel.
  • Maintain communication with vendors regarding warranty issues and operational problems with products.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, goals, and objectives for departmental profitability.
  • Review work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy.
  • Ensure timely ordering of required parts to meet work deadlines.
  • Monitor plumbing service vehicles to ensure they are maintained and operated according to company policy.
  • Generate sales leads and promote maintenance/service agreements.
  • Manage larger installation and commissioning projects, coordinating a team of technicians.
