About The Position

The Plumbing Manager is responsible for managing safety, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, profits, and sales growth of one or more departments. This role involves leading the sales effort for the department, continually prospecting for new customers, and overseeing production efforts at various job sites to ensure all work is performed within the customer’s operational schedule. The Plumbing Manager must conduct business in accordance with PPC and MetroPower, Inc. mission and vision statements, which emphasize the Power to Serve and the Pursuit of Excellence. Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience leading workplace safety efforts.
  • 3-5 years of prior experience in plumbing.
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, including working weekends and holidays.
  • Technical knowledge for the applicable trade.
  • Ability to think conceptually and apply practical solutions quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Bill customers immediately after project completion, aiming for bi-weekly billing on larger projects.
  • Review and manage status reports, accounts receivables, and I5 Doc.
  • Facilitate constant process improvement in production and efficiency in field labor.
  • Implement pre-fab, WENG standards, and other productivity improvement tools.
  • Achieve minimum productivity requirements of 100% and strive for 110%.
  • Prospect for leads continually, maintaining at least 10 new prospects at all times.
  • Provide budgets, estimate proposals, and build relationships to achieve a minimum of 10% growth in sales per year.
  • Forecast weekly tasks, efficiency factors, and resource allocation.
  • Utilize the OPS System in projects with over 800 man hours and monitor work authority.
  • Ensure customer schedules and deadlines are met.
  • Assure compliance with mandatory monthly reports.
  • Train and mentor electricians, mechanics, apprentices, and other department managers.
  • Provide personnel development plans and monitor growth opportunities for direct reports.
  • Make recommendations for personnel decisions including hiring and performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure high-quality service.
  • Take prompt action to resolve customer complaints and achieve high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Achieve minimum employee satisfaction scores and promote teamwork within the department.
  • Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily.
  • Promote safety as the most important goal and support achieving zero accidents.
  • Ensure all employees are up-to-date on required safety training.
